Overview of the Project

Partners and Grapes is a Latina and Woman-owned boutique wine company on a mission to create a cleaner and healthier wine-drinking experience. Located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, all wines are made with 100% organic grapes as certified by the Catalan Council of the Organic Production (CCPAE) in Spain. The wines are imported and distributed to retailers in South Carolina.

Founder Mary Anna Ossa sought to expand awareness and traction around her brand in South and North Carolina. Ossa retained California Public Relations & Advocacy to help tell her story as an entrepreneur and share pertinent details about the company and its wine.

Strategy

Partners and Grapes sought to expand awareness and traction in Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC, Greenville, SC, and Charleston, SC. Therefore, we focused on targeted pitching to journalists and editors at the local and regional levels.

We collaborated with Mary Anna to draft a press release and prepare collateral to distribute to the media, bloggers, and influencers. California Public Relations & Advocacy maintains a nationwide database of journalists and reporters, and we utilized our information and conducted due diligence in each specific location.

In drafting the press release, we sought to focus first on Mary Anna’s inspiring story as an immigrant entrepreneur and second on the key differentiators of her wines. We also drafted a press release in anticipation of the launch of the Rosé wine.

Results

Over six weeks, we pitched every small to large media outlet in the region and secured coverage in the Columbia Business Report, Post and Carrier, Charlotte Observer, The Herald, The Post and Carrier – Greenville, and on the Charleston Regional Business Journal BizWire. In addition, we secured coverage on the Charlotte Food Bloggers and influencer RoastNRelish’s social media pages.

The media coverage reached 2.55 million readers. On social media, the features reached 17.7K accounts and had 57 engagements.
