Susana Franco is a bilingual public relations strategist with 15 years of media experience, recognized for her two Emmy Awards and expertise in leveraging strategic storytelling to drive public outreach and engagement.

She provides senior-level leadership in public relations and media strategy, working with clients across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors to shape narratives that resonate with diverse communities.

Susana built a distinguished career as a journalist, covering some of San Diego’s most high-profile stories, including the 2007 Firestorm and military homecoming reunions, as a field reporter and anchor for CW6 San Diego. Prior to that, she anchored and produced the 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. newscasts at KSWT in Yuma, Arizona, where she tackled border issues, hard news, and feature stories while also managing video editing and online content. Her deep understanding of the media landscape allows her to develop and execute strategic public relations campaigns that secure broad media coverage, drawing on her extensive network of industry relationships.

In addition to her media expertise, Susana brings a strong background in bilingual communications, ensuring effective messaging for both English- and Spanish-speaking audiences. Her ability to bridge cultural gaps and expand outreach has been instrumental in her work with clients such as the City of Salinas, Media Arts Center San Diego, law firms, and nonprofits. She also has experience in broadcast production and content creation, having written and produced a weekly half-hour show at KUSI San Diego, where she developed original story packages and anchor scripts for evening broadcasts.

Susana’s career began in public agency communications at the California Department of Transportation, where she served as a bilingual public relations specialist. This experience laid the foundation for her expertise in strategic communication and government engagement, which she continues to apply in her work today.
