California Grants
Grant Title: 2024 CalAgPlate Grant Program

Estimated Total Funding: $180,000
The CalAgPlate program funds projects that support agricultural education, agricultural career awareness and development, agriculture career training, and agriculture leadership development to assist students at the kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12), post-secondary, and adult education levels. Supporting these educational and training areas will provide participants with further agricultural opportunities.
Grant Title: Mathematics Professional Learning Partnership

The Lead COE will partner with the California Mathematics Project to develop and deliver educator training, focused primarily on the training of mathematics coaches and teacher leaders, and provide resources to educators on delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to all students throughout the state in public schools serving K–12 students pursuant to the 2023 Mathematics Framework.
Grant Title: California Community Reinvestment Grants Program

The CalCRG program awards grants to Local Health Departments and qualified Community-based Nonprofit Organizations to support job placement, mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, system navigation services, legal services to address barriers to reentry, and linkages to medical care for communities disproportionately affected by past federal and state drug policies, also known as the War on Drugs.
Grant Title: Explore the Coast Overnight

Estimated Total Funding: $5,000,000
The Explore the Coast Overnight Program aims to create more opportunities for all Californians to stay overnight at the coast through the expansion or construction of hotels, motels, hostels, campgrounds, RV campgrounds, cabins, yurts, dorm rooms, and others.
Grant Title: Charter School Facilities Credit Enhancement Grant Program

Agency/Department: State Treasurer's Office
Estimated Total Funding: $8,300,000
The federally-funded Charter School Facilities Credit Enhancement Grant Program provides grants to fully or partially fund debt service reserve accounts on bond transactions issued through the Authority. The grant is intended to reduce the overall cost of borrowing for charter schools as it eliminates the need to fund the reserve through bond proceeds.

Grant Title: Teaching with Primary Sources

The Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program has been the Library of Congress’s premier educational outreach program. The goals of the program have included providing instructional materials, tools, education, and professional development that enhance teachers’ ability to integrate digitized primary sources from the Library of Congress into instruction that builds student literacy, critical thinking skills, content knowledge and ability to conduct original research.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Education Programs is accepting applications for the Spotlight on Humanities in Higher Education program. This program supports small projects that help students from underserved populations gain access to and benefit from the humanities. Projects must enhance the teaching and study of the humanities at one or more colleges and universities that enroll fewer than 10,000 undergraduate students and that belong to at least one of the following categories: community colleges, minority-serving institutions, rural colleges and universities, or colleges and universities with more than 40% of students receiving Pell grants. These institutions, nonprofit organizations, and state, local, or Native American Tribal governments aiming to advance the humanities at these institutions are eligible to apply.

Under this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), DOL will award grants through a competitive process to organizations providing pre-apprenticeship services that support education, occupational skills training, and employment services to opportunity youth, ages 16 to 24, who are performing meaningful work and service to their communities.
